And he came thither unto a cave and lodged there (1 Kings 19:9)
The prophet surrounded by his own fears, limitations and unbelief. Dwelling in the place of stagnation, restriction and condemnation. How do you deal with 'lodging' in a place called discontent?
The place of struggle is custom made by God to provoke discontent within you, divine discontent. If you were never discontented then you would settle down and settle down in something other than God's very best for your life and ministry.
Here are 3 Evaluations to Make While in the Place of Discontent.
1. Evaluate your mission. What is your assignment from God. If you don't know maybe you are frustrated because you have not evaluated God's assignment for you in this season.
2. Evaluate your connection. Who do I need to be connected to that I am not connected to. Frustration can be overcome when we are in the company of senior brothers who can help charter our gift into profitable places.
3. Evaluate your tradition. What am I doing to alleviate boredom when I should be taking the big risk and achieving my mission. Mission will always challenge tradition. Here's a clue. For me I go online and write articles, I know I should be out there preaching in USA that's where my heart is. Sometimes our activity hides our assignment or replaces it.
What are you involved with that's second best?
What new tradition have you placed instead of your mission?
Discontentment often comes from a 'trade off' we have made regarding our mission, our connection or our tradition. It's called compromise. In conclusion ministry is not as important as being the voice against the spirit of Jezebel out there the one that intimidates, the liar, and the thief of your life. My advice, go get out of your cave. There is a whole generation out there that needs your anointing.
Paul.
